Nutribullet recipes for success

Nutribullet blenders offer a quick and very easy way to keep your diet healthy and very fresh.

There are a couple of rules to make sure you keep your Nutribullet in tip top condition too.

What can you put in your Nutribullet?

Anything that isn't too hard, but whole carrots, apple, broccoli, cucumbers are all totally acceptable.

The Nutribullet 600 will struggle with some fruit and veg of larger pieces, but the 900 will cope well.

These tasty recipes can be used as a guide to making sure you put the ingredients in your Nutribullet in the right order and the perfect quantities. Adding the liquid last ensures you don't overfill the blender and gravity draws it down gradually, to create a silky smooth, nutritious and delicious smoothie after blitzing for 60 seconds!

There are two blades for Nutribullets:

Extracting - use the extraction blade to process fruits and vegetables.

Milling - use a short cup and milling blade as a grinder to mill your ingredients and get the nutrients from fab foods such as oats, seeds and nuts!

Rule number 1, don't overfill your blender.

Rule umber 2 - don't add hot ingredients, or fizzy liquids - it won't end well.

Problems?

If it jams up, take the bullet and give it a good shake. Make sure the blade unit is nice and tight though.

Instead of a shake, you can tap it on the counter. This will dislodge the solids and get the blade turning again. You may need to do this several times to get the ingredients to thoroughly blend together.

Recipes

Basil oil drizzle

Super easy  - swirl over croutons in a basic tomato soup to jazz up and add intense flavours. The oil will keep in a jar in the fridge for a couple of weeks. Add to pasta sauces, coleslaw, humous, garlic bread for a totally basiliy taste.

2 cups fresh basil.

1 cup of olive oil

1 small clove of garlic

Lemon zest

Lemon juice

pinch of salt.

salsa

A fresh homemade salsa is a great addition to a plate of nachos for a really quick and easy meal.

1 red onion

1/2 red pepper

1/2 red chilli pepper without the seeds

handful coriander

lime juice

salt

All in the blender, pulse several times then add

Tin of plum tomatoes

Pulse again.

Banofee smoothie

Totally sugar fix, yet still a healthy choice. Really ripe bananas not only add divine sweetness, they are easier to digest and actually a great way of using up bananas that are a bit past it for eating as a banana. Blitzing them in a smoothie is much easier than making banana cake!

Ripe banana - frozen and chopped into small pieces, this is more necessary for the Nutribullet 600.

Ripe banana unfrozen.

Dates - 5-6 pitted fresh dates

Almond milk

Best consumed soon after preparing

Green, lean smoothie

Handful of spinach

Stalk of celery, chopped

top up with 1 roughly diced apple, skin on.

Ripe banana

1/2 - 1 cup of water

Chia seeds.

Blitz
